What is the Haka?
As a team event, the Haka is a powerful shared experience based on the traditional war dance of the Māori people of New Zealand. The dance combines strength, expression and a sense of community. It highlights the courage of the individual and the strength of the group. The Haka became famous primarily through the All Blacks, New Zealand’s national rugby team. Our energetic facilitators first introduce the group to the cultural background of the Haka. Afterwards, all participants warm up physically and vocally. Our coach then teaches the individual steps and movements step by step. This allows everyone to find their own level. It doesn’t matter whether someone has dance experience or not.
